Week Three of the Solas – Solus Christus
Hebrews 4:14-5:10
Sermon notes – It sometimes is hard to get an audience with someone in authority. It seems that the higher up people are, the tougher it is for a regular person to be able to talk to them. Someone else is answering their phones and emails and keeping their calendars, and if you aren’t deemed important enough or if you aren’t a friend, you simply can’t gain access. Security measures will ensure you can’t get physically close either. Before the Reformation, Jesus seemed that inaccessible to the common person. Because people couldn’t speak to him directly, the depended on their priest to speak on their behalf. But Scripture teaches us that Jesus is our priest, and that anything that kept us from direct access to him has been taken away.
