Luke 24:13-35
This is the 2nd Sunday of Easter. The items in the text take place on Easter, and spread out over a long day, with many miles on the road. Some of the followers of Jesus are on the road out of Jerusalem, having been informed of the resurrection, and yet sad. They are talking among themselves, processing the events of the last few days, when they come across a stranger.
That stranger knows a lot about the events of the day. He knows a lot about Jesus. He knows a lot about them. At the end of their time with the stranger, they understand the events of the day differently.
What helps us process the power of Easter? What reminds us of Jesus as we go through life? What takes us from sad to hopeful to joyful?
